Great work, Bill! Thanks a ton for your services :-) We represent a bowling alley in Romania. We purchased full-version of "Visual Bowling", a software needed to run & manage 10 bowling lanes, made by a company named "Scout Bowling". With turn-key bowling sollutions, it is often customary to purchase the software not directly from the programming company, but from an intermediate persion -- the one who also builds the bowling lanes. They are usually also authorized dealers (sub-licensers) for bowling alley management software. That's what we did. Unfortunately, the dealer we purchased the lanes from and who licensed the software to us went out of business 1 year after our purchase. Later, the HASP HL key got damaged. We were able to run the shoftware using the damaged key, but the procedure was bound to crack one day. Replacing the damaged key would have involved costs almos aequivalent to purchasing another full-licencese from the software company, running up to 5-digit figures! In other words, we were required to pay *twice* in order to use the software we had already licensed legitimately! Thanks to fine people like Bill here, now we are able to continue our business without fearing a total blackout anytime soon :-) More than that, with the new sollution, we are shifting our bowling lane management system to virtual servers, making us independent of the hardware for years to come ;-) Added: May 10, 2012 |
